Crime Log: Mar. 23 — 26

Instances of burglary and vandalism make up this week’s crime log.

BURGLARY — EMERSON HALL

March 24, 3:23 p.m.

An individual gained access to Emerson Hall and stole two laptops from dorm rooms. When questioned by students, the individual ran off. One laptop has been recovered. The incident has been referred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

VANDALISM — MARSHBURN HALL

March 25, 11:51 a.m.

An individual called in to report graffiti on one of the classroom brick walls. Facilities Management was called to clean up the graffiti.

BURGLARY — SIGMA HALL

March 25, 8:49 p.m.

The same individual from the March 24 incident gained access to Sigma Hall and stole a laptop from a dorm room. When confronted by students, the individual fled. The incident was referred to the LASD.

VEHICLE BURGLARY — ALPHA PARKING LOT K

March 25, incident occurred between 4:57 a.m. and 2:12 p.m.

A staff member parked their vehicle early in the morning and returned at 12 p.m. to find their vehicle scratched and a wallet stolen. Campus Safety believes the burglary ties into the Emerson and Sigma thefts. The incident was referred to the LASD.

DISTURBING THE PEACE — HOPE HALL

March 26, 1:41 a.m.

A resident complained about hearing screaming coming from McNally. An officer searched the area but found nothing.

PETTY THEFT — SIGMA HALL

March 26, incident occurred between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

An individual stole a camera bag and its accessories from the same room in Sigma where the laptop was stolen. Campus Safety believes it is the same man from the Emerson and Sigma thefts. The incident was referred to the LASD.
