The Biola softball team continued their winning streak as they beat Arizona Christian University twice on Feb. 28, improving their conference record to 2-2.

The first game remained scoreless for three innings until junior third baseman Heather Hall put Biola on the board with a single home run. The Eagles' next run came from an error by the Firestorm in the sixth inning. Junior catcher Bria Madrid capped off the game for the Eagles with a two-run home run in the seventh. Biola won the game 4-0.

Senior right handed pitcher Reba DePriest held the Firestorm scoreless through seven innings of pitching. DePriest only allowed two hits while striking out 14 batters.

The second game proved to be much closer for the Eagles. After six innings of play, Biola found themselves 5-7. In the final inning, junior right handed pitcher Kendall Maddox hit a three-run home run to give the Eagles an 8-7 lead. Sophomore outfielder Kasey Hormel extended Biola’s lead with a two run home run. After three quick outs in the field, the Eagles won the game 10-7.

Biola now holds a season record of 14-6 while standing 2-2 in the Golden State Athletic Conference. Their next game is a doubleheader at home against Southern Oregon University on Mar. 2. The Raiders currently hold a season record of 17-7.
