The men’s basketball team defeated La Sierra University to win their second game of the season.

The Eagles traveled to Riverside, California on Nov. 6 to play La Sierra University for their second game of the season. Biola outscored La Sierra early and won the game 88-66.

The Eagles started off the game strong, scoring 46 points in the first half. The last time they scored above 45 to open a game was on Dec. 30, 2011 when they scored 48. Biola entered the half 46-29.

The Eagles continued to add to their lead in the second half, outscoring La Sierra 42-37, for a final game score of 88-66.

Three Biola players scored double digits for the Eagles. Senior forward Mike Kurtz lead the team with 25 points and nine rebounds.  Senior guard Pierre Zook shot 5-6 behind the arch, resulting in 24 points. Junior guard Dikari Archer made half the team’s assists while scoring 10 points for the Eagles. Biola only had four assists, two blocks and one steal.

Junior forward Christian Misi and senior guard Colin Bossio both scored six points off the bench for the Eagles, leading a bench effort of 21 points. Misi also secured seven boards for Biola.

The Eagles now stand 2-0 for the season and play Northwest University for the first time in eight years Nov. 8.
