Both the men and women’s team dropped to Lewis-Clark State in their matches on Tuesday. The loss puts the men’s overall record at 7-11 and the women’s at 6-13.
Freshmen Lucas Lee and Luke Mountain were the only doubles partners for the men’s team to win their match 8-6. Mountain went on to win his singles match against Lewis-Clark’s Haseeb Khan 6-2 and 6-1.
The only other win that came from the men’s side was junior Tayven Townsend. Townsend was able to win the first set against his opponent 6-2. However he was not able to pull out a win in the second set to take his match and fell 6-2. In the final set Townsend bounced back from the loss to take the match 6-1.
Despite fighting hard, the men were not able to win any more matches and ended up falling to Lewis-Clark 3-6.
The only win for the women came from sophomores Susan Carmichael and Kathryn Ashford. The two were able to pull out a tight 9-8 match to secure their ninth win of the season as a pairing.
Both teams will compete in a conference match against Arizona Christian University on April 4 starting at 2 p.m.
