Men’s golf finishes season

Golf team looks to the future with new talent after struggling all season long.

The men’s golf team struggled to close their season at the California Baptist University Men’s Invitational as they finished in 18th out of 18 teams. The Eagles struggled each round and fell behind more and more and eventually trailed the 17th place team by 60-strokes.

Sophomore William Langworthy was Biola’s top finisher as he placed 73rd overall, faltering in the last round. Langworthy shot a 73 and then a 77, but finished with an 84 to drop him in the rankings.

Fellow sophomore Lucas Kinan bounced back from an 81 in the second round with an 80 in the third to finish 80th overall and have Biola’s second lowest score.

Western New Mexico University took the tournament, placing three golfers in the top 15 with David Metz placing first individual.

The golf team had a tough year overall, finishing last in all tournaments except one. With a slew of young talent the Eagles will look to rebound next year. Langworthy, Kinan and Kevin VandeKamp are all sophomores and will look to push the team further next year in head coach Jeff Anderson’s second season.
