Tennis teams bring home wins

Eagles win matches for both men and women.

Both men and women’s tennis teams pulled out wins in their matches earlier this week. The women are currently 5-12 overall and 1-5 in conference play while the men are currently 7-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

The women’s team traveled to Oakland on Saturday and nabbed their fourth win of the season 8-1. The Eagles took home another win on Tuesday against Hope International University 7-1. This is an improvement from earlier this season when the women fell to HIU 6-3.

The men were also able to pull out a win against Hope International after losing three-straight previous matches.

Biola kept up with Hope International throughout the entire match and the deciding match was in the No. 1 singles with freshman Lucas Lee against senior John-Douglas Owens. Lee was able to win his first and third sets to secure the win 5-4 for the Eagles.

On Wednesday, the men defeated Pacific Lutheran University 7-2 to surpass the record for most wins in a season since 2007.

The women will host Pacific University starting at 10 a.m., and the men will play at Fresno Pacific University on March 29 starting at 2 p.m.
