Success in the pool

The Biola swim team competed in the Bulldog Pentathlon at University of Redlands this Saturday, finishing the afternoon with a great deal of success.

Two competitors for the Eagles did exceptionally well during the meet. Freshman Chad LeJeune placed third overall in the pentathlon. Even more exceptional was his second place finish in the 100 breaststroke where he broke Biola’s school record with a time of 59.76.

Junior Christine Tixier also did an outstanding job, taking the top place in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:07.74 and second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.28. Tixier’s fantastic finishes earned her a third place overall finish in the pentathlon.

Other swimmers snagged great times throughout the meet. 

Junior Megan Nerud finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:02.57, and sophomore Angela Kirschner finished 13th with a time of 1:03.63. Kirschner also took sixth in the 100-yard freestyle.

The Eagles will have a week break before heading to Aliso Viejo for the Soka Invitational scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16.
