Biola volleyball wasted no time in defeating Arizona Christian University on Tuesday night. The match lasted 57 minutes as the Eagles defeated the Firestorm in straight-sets, 3-0.

Senior middle blocker Chelsee Arnitz led the team in kills and blocks for the night, contributing a total of 11 kills and three blocks.

In the first set Biola quickly established a large lead at 13-3. The Eagles only had four unforced errors in the set and won 25-9.

Despite not getting into double digits in the first set, Arizona Christian came out swinging in the second and were tied with the Eagles at five. However, after three consecutive kills from Biola’s front row, the Firestorm started to make more unforced errors and fell behind 9-18. Biola ended the second set on top with a kill from Arnitz, 17-25.

Sophomore outside hitter Joclyn Kirton had two kills in a row to give the Eagles the first points of third set. Biola fired ahead of Arizona Christian 4-10 and kept the momentum going to win the final set 25-15.

The Eagles’ overall record is now 20-2 and 10-1 in Golden State Athletic Conference play. Biola will host the Westmont College Warriors at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 in Chase Gymnasium.
