Event Recap
This week’s AS Senate meeting began with a recap of recent AS events such as Nationball and the clubs fair. Suggestions to improve Nationball included splitting the Off-Campus Community team, placing fans at all the doors and implementing a dress code for guys. New clubs like the Crafts Club were introduced at the clubs fair, and there was a discussion about reinstating the Honorable Biola Cheese Society.
Biola LIVE is an upcoming AS event on Sept. 28: The Anaheim Ducks are playing the San Jose Sharks at the Honda Center. Tickets are $20 and will be sold Sept. 23-28 in front of the Caf and in the AS office.
Finance Update
The vice president of finance gave an update on the AS contingency account. The account total is $65,942.20. Matthew Porter, AS controller, also shared that the New York Times will be available on campus starting Monday.
Diversity Update
Diversity liaison Jackeline Arias informed the senators of the university demographics for the 2012-2013 academic year, and Biola’s diversity statement.
“It’s good to know who you represent,” Arias said.
