After going 4-0 in the Biola/Red Lion Hotel Anaheim Summer Slam tournament, Biola volleyball continued their streak by adding another match to their win column in the Concordia University Labor Day Festival Tournament against Carroll College Montana. This match marks the third time Biola has successfully defeated a team in three sets and puts the Eagle’s record at 5-0.

In the beginning of the first set Biola was down 1-3. The Eagles came together offensively and through a series of kills were able to take control of the game and lead the Saints 8-5. From there, Biola maintained a consistent lead with senior middle blocker Chelsee Arntiz contributing five kills during the set to win 25-19.

Arntiz put on a dominant offensive display during the second set, hitting a .700 percentage when the Eagles lead the Saints 10-8. Several points later, with both teams deadlocked at 16-16, Biola pulled ahead to win nine out of the last 11 points and secure the win 25-18.

Biola went into the third and final set looking to keep their win-streak of nine straight sets alive. Carroll College kept within close range of Biola, but the Eagles surged late to win the set 25-19.

The Eagles return to the Labor Day Festival tomorrow to play Westminster College Utah at 1 p.m. and then compete in a second match against Cornerstone University Michigan.
