The men’s and women’s track teams competed at the Soka University Peace Invitational this past weekend on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles only had seven competitors at the meet consisting of various southern California schools.
The Eagles had four competitors in the women’s pole vault, with freshman Nicole Falkenstein taking third with a vault of 3.50 meters. Sydney Blakeley of University of California, San Diego took first at 3.65 meters. Biola junior Taylor McCahon placed fifth at 3.35 meters with freshmen Katie Lusk and Emily Briggs going seventh and eighth at 2.50 meters and 2.45 meters respectively.
Junior Peter Stacy placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 11.65 meters and second in the javelin throw reaching 57.99 meters.
Senior Matthew Bacchus finished 11th in the 100-yard dash with a time of 17.51.
Biola will compete at the Golden State Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship Friday and Saturday in Santa Barbara.
