Women’s basketball’s Adams scores 34 in crucial win

With the regular season coming to a close, women’s basketball picked up a crucial victory over Arizona Christian University 79-55 on Tuesday night to stay in a three-way tie in the Golden State Athletic Conference rankings with Hope International University and Concordia University Irvine.

Junior Adijat Adams had a huge game dropping 34 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. She is averaging 17 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

The Eagles went into the first half trailing the Firestorm 34-32 as they struggled from the field shooting 38 percent.

The second half was a completely different story as Biola turned on the jets, outscoring ACU 47-21 to take the convincing victory.

Adams played out of her mind in the second half, shooting 9-10 from the field, picking up 19 points and eight rebounds.

Also in double figures were sophomore Elizabeth Munger and senior Becca DeVere, both scoring ten points apiece. DeVere also added seven rebounds and six assists.

The loss furthered the Firestorm’s struggles as they have lost 15 in a row and are 0-13 in GSAC play.

Biola closes out their regular season hosting NAIA No. 6 Westmont College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
