Men’s basketball rode a huge second half to a 76-68 victory over San Diego Christian College on Tuesday night in La Mirada.
Senior forward David Cline had a huge game dropping 27 points while collecting ten rebounds.
Halfway through the first half the Eagles trailed 23-10, but a 3-pointer from sophomore guard Dakota Anderson started a 13-0 run for Biola to tie the game. The Eagles stayed close through the end of the half and trailed 42-37 going into the second half.
Biola’s strong play carried over into the second half as they gradually overtook the Hawks and lead 68-66 with one minute to play. Cline then stepped up and knocked down a clutch jumper while getting fouled. He completed the three point play to put the Eagles up five and up for good.
Anderson followed Cline’s lead with 10 points of his own, hitting two threes and picking up three assists and three steals as well.
San Diego Christian struggled from the field in the second half, shooting only 36 percent after shooting 48.5 percent in the first half.
The Eagles picked up their shooting from 46.7 percent to 53.8 percent between the halves.
Biola will try and keep their record above .500 on Saturday when they travel to The Master’s College for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
