The Biola women's basketball team cruised to a 60-48 win over The California Maritime Academy in a non-conference game on Friday Dec. 8 in Vallejo, CA. The Eagles improve to an overall record of 5-4, while the Keelhaulers drop to 1-10 overall.
Junior center Adijat Adams’ 16 points and 12 rebounds led the way for Biola, while junior forward Chelsea Hill added another 10 points and six rebounds.
Both teams were tied at 10 after five minutes of play, Biola however ended strong scoring 43 points in the first half alone. After a 20-0 run in a nine minute span, the Eagles found themselves with a 23-point lead. They managed to hit 63 percent from the field in this period, holding the Keelhaulers to a low 31 percent.
The second half was not as easy for Biola as the first with the Eagles shooting 30 percent from the field. Luckily, the Eagle defense held Cal Maritime to a 28 percent.
The Eagles return home Thursday for a scrimmage against Showtime Australia at 7:30 p.m.
