The Biola Rugby team won their first match of the year on Nov. 11 against Whittier College 31-20. Junior outside center Troy Coleman won his second man of the match of the season picking up a hat trick with his three tries. Sophomore inside center Kyle Lee and senior winger Chris McGee both added a try apiece while flyhalf and senior captain Anthony Cantu converted three kicks for additional points.

“It was a great feeling finally getting a win. The games we have played so far this fall have all been against better more experienced teams and I think that really toughened us up and got our new players used to not only the game itself but also to the level of competitiveness that we need to be at,” Cantu said.

The Biola’s next game is this Saturday against rival Azusa Pacific University at Rancho Elementary Field in La Mirada at 1 p.m.
