Women’s cross-country finishes tenth at NAIA championship in Washington

The women’s cross-country team finished tenth overall at the NAIA championship on Saturday in Vancouver, Washington.

The women’s cross-country team finished 10th overall in the NAIA championship on Saturday at the Fort Vancouver Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington. This is the sixth straight season in which the women’s team has finished in the top 12.

Freshman Kellian Hunt finished 15th overall with a time of 18:20, earning an NAIA All-American honor. Fellow freshmen Neysa Mains and Llima Kung ran well with Mains placing 55th with a time of 18:57 and Kung finishing 98th out of 320 runners with a time of 19:30.

Senior Rachel Stump crossed the finish line with a time of 19:41 and secured 123rd place. Junior Kasey Schalich came in close behind with a time of 19:43, placing 128th.

Junior Danny Ledesma was the lone representative from the men’s team as an individual runner. Despite the steady rain that fell during the men’s race, Ledesma finished 114th out of 309 racers overall with a time of 26:16.
