The Biola men's basketball team fell 75-74 to Cal State Dominguez Hills after a crucial shot late in the second half in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
With their second straight loss, the Eagles' record falls to 4-2 while the Toros improve their record to a 3-2.
Both teams played neck-and-neck throughout the game and the Toros only led by two at half. Both teams shot well in the first half with Biola shooting 58 percent and the Toros at 53 percent. The second half was similar, and Biola led by as many as nine, but the Toros cut the deficit and tied with three minutes left to play. Biola led by three in the last minute, but Dominguez Hills rallied and Myron Green made a shot in the last 14 seconds to put the Toros up by one point. Junior Zack Zaragoza attempted a 3-point shot in the last second of the game but failed to score.
Freshman Christopher Jones scored 17 points off the bench and senior David Cline led the Eagles with 19 points and five rebounds.
Biola returns home on Tuesday with a game against Pacific Union College at 7:30 p.m.
