Women’s volleyball sweeps San Diego Christian College

Biola’s three set victory improves record to 26-3 overall and 12-1 in conference play.

Women’s volleyball cruised to a straight-sets victory over San Diego Christian College on Senior Night, Nov. 6. Senior Nicolette Mather led the way for Biola with 12 kills while fellow senior Christine Douglas added eight.

The Eagles dominated play in the first set from start to finish, closing with a 7-3 run and winning the set 25-11.

The second set proved to be very similar as Biola opened with a 13-3 run and never looked back, coasting to the 25-13 victory.

The third set held much of the same as the Hawks could not get anything going and the Eagles rode a 14-4 stretch to a 25-15 set victory.

Senior Rachel Buckley picked up six kills and a match-high four aces while fellow senior Justine Schoneveld had 32 assists, a block, a kill and an ace for the Eagles.

The victory improved Biola’s record to 26-3 overall and 12-1 in Golden State Athletic Conference play.

Biola travels to No. 1 Concordia University Irvine on Saturday to play for a share of the GSAC title.
