Despite winning the regular season matchup, men’s soccer fell 2-1 to the No. 2 seeded San Diego Christian College in the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament.

Though play was slow and uneventful in the first half, the Eagles still managed to fire off seven shots and take three corners. Freshman goalkeeper Joshua Crichton recorded six saves to keep Biola in the game.

The game broke open in the 73rd minute when Emmanuel Onywera knocked in his 10th goal of the season to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. The forward, who led SDCC with 8 shots, proceeded to widen the gap when 4 minutes later, he put away his 11th scoring opportunity, extending SDCC's lead to two.

Biola, eager to strike back, came away with a goal of its own in the 78th minute. Sophomore midfielder Sava Pantic made a breakaway run and slotted the ball past the keeper to put the Eagles on the scoring sheet. Both teams played to a standstill for the remainder of the match, and the Eagles found themselves on the losing end of another match away from home.

The loss will likely result in a exclusion from the NAIA tournament and the end of a solid season for the Eagles. Due to a lack of high rankings and notoriety throughout the regular season, it is unlikely that Biola will get an at-large bid.
