Women’s soccer defeats Hope International in GSAC playoffs

The Biola women’s soccer team defeated Hope International in the first round of the GSAC playoffs on Tuesday.

The Biola women’s soccer team came out on top in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference playoffs Tuesday night. The Eagles cruised over Hope International University 3-0 to advance to the second round. The win followed up a victory over The Master’s College on Saturday with the Eagles winning 3-1 over the Mustangs.

Against Hope, Biola got on the board midway through the first half with senior midfielder Stephanie Cubias putting the Eagles on top in the 27th minute.

Junior forward Chrissy King continued the scoring for Biola with a header off of a corner from junior midfielder Victoria Dalla Zanna in the 54th minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Briana Williams picked up three saves in the shutout. The Eagles added one more insurance goal in the 79th minute to secure the opening round victory.
