Biola once again sweeps Hope International

The Biola Eagles dominate the royals in straight sets, cruise to fourth straight victory.

The Eagles faced off against the Hope International University Royals on Thursday for the second time in the season.  Biola swept the Royals as they had done once before.

Biola received the ball in the first set and was able to score the first point of the match with a kill from freshman right-side hitter Crissy Cunningham. The Eagles set the pace early on, forcing Hope International to call  a timeout when the score was 11-4 Biola. The Eagles continued their momentum and ended the first set 25-11 Biola.

In the second set Hope International called a timeout early on, with the Eagles up 4-0. The Royals were able to score their first point off of a kill from outside hitter Markisha Richie. Biola and Hope International battled with longer rallies but the Eagles finished the set on top 25-13.

Biola continued to dominate Hope International with strong kills in the third set. The Eagles totaled 12 executed kills, while Hope International had only five. Biola finished the third set 25-11.

Biola will host No. 1 Texas-Brownsville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
