Women’s soccer tops Hope International in overtime

Biola women’s soccer defeated Hope International University in an overtime thriller 1-0 Wednesday night.

Sophomore defender Michelle Clark scored the winning goal from 30 yards out off an assist from junior forward Jessica Austin in the 94th minute.

The Eagles dominated shots throughout the entire match, along with shots on target. Biola outshot the Royals 9-4 in the first half, 11-5 in the second half and 2-0 in overtime.

Sophomore goalkeeper Briana Williams picked up three saves for the Eagles in the shutout, while junior midfielder Michelle Andre led the way for Biola with five shots.

The win improved the Eagles to a winning record in the Golden State Athletic Conference at 4-3 and a winning record overall at 7-6-1.

There are only three more matches remaining for Biola, with the next one being Saturday at home at 4:30 p.m. against Concordia University Irvine.
