Biola volleyball was defeated in a match against Concordia University of Irvine Saturday night, snapping Biola’s 18-match winning streak. Concordia improves to 20-0, in the three-set, 25-16, 25-22, 25-21 victory, while Biola falls to 19-2 overall.

The first set opened with a kill by Concordia senior Fei Gao setting the tone for the remainder of the set with Concordia dominating through to the finish. The Biola Eagles were able to put themselves on the scoreboard, but it was not enough to finish with the win. Concordia won the set 25-16, putting them up 1-0 in the match.

The second set was a sight to be seen with both teams exchanging points from start to finish. Long rallies and kills to the back corners made for a nail-biter kind of game. The score fluctuated back-and-forth until some Biola miscues and a kill by Concordia's Reanna Schelhaas pushed Concordia to another victory.

Concordia led the match 2-0 going into the third set, but the set would prove to be just like the second with Concordia firing ahead in the final points of the game. Despite much effort and an overall well-played game, Biola was not able to pull out the win, dropping their first Golden State Athletic Conference match of the year.
