Up-and-coming artist Mat Kearney is scheduled to perform on Oct. 26 at Biola’s fall concert. Biola’s concert is slated to start at 7 p.m., with doors opening 30 minutes prior.
This private event will only be open to Biola students, faculty and alumni. The Columbia Records artist will be playing at the Nokia in Los Angeles with Train, just a month before on Sept. 29.
The concert was originally going to be held in Chase Gymnasium, but was moved because the gym would not be available in time for Event Services to set up.
“It will definitely be an outdoor concert, and it’s looking like it’s going to be on Metzger Lawn,” said senior Lauren Bailey, the Associated Students music and arts coordinator. The vicinity that will hold the show must have the ability to hold 2,300 students, according to the contract.
The proposal to hold this concert was passed unanimously at the AS senate meeting on Tuesday. AS is currently working on finding an opening act for the show.
