We are men who have interests, but we aren’t men who have Pinterests.

Well, make way for the hottest new time-waster: Pinterest. It’s a place where girls can be girls. It’s a place where they are safe to share what’s on their hearts: cute living rooms, cute plates of food, cute relationship pictures, cute boys, cute wedding ideas, cute dresses, cute … well, you get the point.

Key to understanding girls

This isn’t just about the girls, however. Guys have a part in this Pinterest thing, too. For centuries, guys have been frustrated because they just can’t understand women. They try and try, but it’s the new millennium, and they can’t keep trying forever. Frankly, they’re starting to give up on the whole thing. Are you one of those guys? Do you have a desire to once-and-for-all just figure out what’s really going on with the girls around you? Well, don’t give up hope. Because there’s an app for that.

It’s called Pinterest. You’re just a half hour away from figuring out the girl world. Just a half hour of browsing through the latest dresses, the cutest grunge looks for those early mornings, and of course, those uplifting pictures with blurbs like, “Don’t let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life,” or “Happiness is a cup of coffee and a really good book,” or “If he … makes you laugh, kisses your forehead, says he’s sorry, makes an effort, holds your hand, works hard, attempts to understand you … then, believe it or not, he’s quite perfect.”

Hmm. Maybe girls aren’t so hard to understand after all. Maybe all they need is to see that we can work an eight-hour day and give an honest apology. And maybe we’ll be happy if we drink a lot of coffee and read a lot of books. But wait. AJ Ranson and I have had our fair share of coffee and books, but happiness? I’m not sure. Maybe we’ll start a “Real Happiness” pinboard on Pinterest. And then we’ll pin up all of the things that will lead to real happiness. It’s a big project, so maybe you could pin up some things, too. Maybe you could help us out.

Here’s to the world of shared interests and fascinating ways to waste time,
You read it first on …
