Women’s track and field places 10th at indoor nationals

The indoor track and field team finished its season with 11 All-Americans and four school records at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The Eagles summed up their indoor track and field season with 11 All-Americans and four school records at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The Biola women finished tenth in the nation headlined by the distance medley relay team, consisting of senior Jane Kerner, senior Brooke Forsi, sophomore Alexandra Sciarra and senior Nychele Fischetti. The team took second in the country with a time of 12:03.26 falling only behind Azusa Pacific University who finished fifth overall.

Fischetti headlines 11 All-Americans

Fischetti earned an All-American spot with a 4:59.454, fifth place mile, it is her eighth career All-American selection.

Rounding out the women All-American’s are Forsi, Kerner, Sciarra and sophomore Taylor McCahon.

The women also topped four school records. McCahon’s 3.6-meter in the pole vault, Fischetti’s 4:59.44 in the mile, Forsi’s 1:35.52 in the 600-meter all were the Biola records. The 4×800-meter relay consisting of Forsi, Sciarra, Fischetti and Kerner came in at 9:09.41 and was also the best mark for a Biola team ever.
