The Biola men’s soccer team dropped to 3-1 on Tuesday night against Fresno Pacific University as the Sunbirds tallied two goals in the final 15 minutes to defeat the Eagles.
Fresno Pacific (8-3-0) got the scoring started early in the 17th minute on a cross in front of the goal that was knocked in by junior Rodrigo Vianna.
The Eagles struck back in the 37th minute when senior forward Marco Ruvalcaba fired a shot through traffic and past the outstretched arms of Sunbird keeper, junior Steven Waite. As soon as Ruvalcaba blasted the ball towards the net the fans erupted, clearly seeing the path this ball had towards the back of the goal.
That was all the scoring this match would see until Fresno Pacific struck again in the 77th minute with Vianna again putting home a shot past the Eagles senior keeper Aaron Fenlason.
The Sunbirds didn’t stop there though, quickly tallying a third goal just two minutes later with an unassisted score from junior Fabricio Nazare.
The Eagles will try to bounce back at home against rival Azusa Pacific University on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.
