ACU accepted into GSAC, goes from seven teams to eight

GSAC will contain eight schools in the 2012-2013 season.

Arizona Christian University was accepted into the Golden State Athletic Conference for the 2012-2013 season according to a GSAC report released on Sept. 9. Dr. Paul Ague, chair of the GSAC Council of Presidents announced this after members of the GSAC Executive Committee completed a review of ACU.

The GSAC will be losing three schools — Azusa Pacific University, Fresno Pacific University and Point Loma Nazarene University — in 2012. ACU will bring the total of schools in the 2012 GSAC from seven to eight.

The ACU Firestorm will be bringing a total of 10 teams with them, five for men and five for women. Their teams include cross country, soccer, basketball, golf, baseball and women’s volleyball, but by the time the Firestorm join the conference, softball and men’s and women’s tennis will be added to the mix.
