Biola baseball winning streak broken by Vanguard

The Biola baseball team’s five game winning streak was broken by Vanguard Monday with a surprising 2-1 loss.

Biola’s winning streak came to an end against Vanguard University today when the Eagles lost 2-1 on the road. This game was surprisingly low-scoring compared to how many runs Biola has scored in recent games, but Eagle players Drake Fages and Vinnie Fayard did their part offensively. Fayard went 2 for 4 today and Fages went 2 for 3, but the team left a lot of men stranded on the bases.

While the winning streak is over, Biola still sits in first place in the GSAC Conference looking back at the pack. Biola can forget about this loss and look ahead to a full week of baseball with five games in the next five days. They will get another shot at Vanguard tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. when the two teams meet again, but this time the game will be here on Biola’s home field.
