The Chimes

Amanda is a freshman journalism student with an emphasis in writing and publishing. When she is not writing, you can find her drinking a cup of coffee, reading any book she can find or watching Parks and Rec.

Hi! My name is Amanda. For most of my life, I lived in a small town called Tuolumne in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in NorCal. Growing up, I spent my time hiking and exploring the mountains with family and friends. Some of my favorite memories of home were made enjoying God’s creation with others.

In May of my senior year, I decided to attend Biola and study journalism with an emphasis in writing and publishing. I have always enjoyed writing since I was in elementary school. English was always my favorite subject. Every creative writing assignment was an opportunity to find new ways to tell stories and share my ideas. I decided to study journalism because it allows me to write and organize stories so I can help people communicate their ideas and experiences with others.

I am so honored and excited to be writing for The Chimes this semester! I cannot wait to see how I grow and mature in my writing over this semester. I am overjoyed to be a part of a publication that shares the perspectives and stories of the students at Biola!
