The Chimes

I am from Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. If you were to ask me what I do when I’m there, the answer would probably surprise you. I do participate in some of the stereotypical activities such as snorkeling and swimming at the beach, but I mostly enjoy hiking and exploring the different areas of my island. I love music, movies, politics, writing and exploring. These passions are a big reason why I decided to make the big move from Hawaii to Los Angeles.

I am currently a sophomore broadcast journalism major at Biola University. Because of my passions, I knew that I wanted to get involved in telling stories. When I arrived at Biola, I immediately started to look around for ways that I could get involved in journalistic activities. The Chimes was the first organization to catch my eye, and I decided to start freelancing. Because I’m in a city that thrives off of business, politics and entertainment and through being in the middle of it all, I made decided to focus my writing on one of the biggest things for which LA is known: entertainment. When I’m not working, I’m usually hiking and exploring various locations throughout Orange County and LA.
