Women’s tennis played Saturday afternoon in San Diego, Calif. against the Point Loma Nazarene University Sea Lions. The Eagles unfortunately lost the match up overall 3-4, but there were some individual victories and two double match wins.
Regardless of defeat, the Eagles were able to secure some victories. Double team freshmen Amelia Kitts and Gaby Carvajall hustled and fought through their match. At first it was a tied game at 6-6, but Kitts and Carvajal were able to pull through and gain a victory, 7-6. Freshman pair Brooke Fager and Lilly McNeill were able to triumph in their double match as well, finishing with a score of 6-4.
Although the Eagles lost overall, Biola was still able to score in this afternoon’s match up. Sophomore Mary Brascia and freshman Colbeyshae Emery both won their matches. The Eagles were able secure individual wins, but it was not sufficient enough to defeat their opponents. The Eagles fell short to the Sea Lions, 3-4.
The Eagles (2-2) will be playing in Thousand Oaks, Calif. on Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. versus California Lutheran University.
