Crime Log ― Jan. 15 – Jan. 22

A hit and run at the gatehouse, petty theft and trespassing make up this week’s crime log.

Hit and Run: Property Damage ― Gatehouse #1

Reported Jan. 16, 8:40 p.m.

A gate attendant saw a vehicle crash through the gate arm and make a U-turn off campus during last Wednesday’s power outage. The incident was not reported to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

Burglary/Vehicle ― Lot K

Reported Jan. 17, 9:03 p.m., occurred between Jan. 14, 11:30 p.m. and Jan. 17, 9:03 p.m.

A student reported a window broken on their vehicle. The glove compartment and the center console were both rummaged through. It is not clear whether the vehicle was locked or not. The student did not wish to report the incident to the LASD.

Petty Theft ― Lot P

Reported Jan. 18, 5:15 p.m., occurred prior to 5:15 p.m.

A student reported their vehicle’s back license plate missing. The incident was referred to the LASD and remains active.

Trespassing ― Gatehouse #2

Reported Jan. 21, 10:58 a.m.

A Campus Safety officer observed an individual smoking near Gatehouse #2. The officer made contact with the individual, who claimed to have a tour scheduled. Further questioning indicated that the individual had no business being on campus. The person was issued a trespass warning and escorted off campus.

Trespassing ― University Drive

Reported Jan. 21, 11:29 p.m.

Campus Safety personnel observed a repossession truck driving around campus. The officer made contact and determined that the driver had no reason to be on campus. The individual was given a trespass warning and advised to leave campus.
