Crime Log ― Dec. 4 – Dec. 11

This week’s crime log is made up of petty theft, trespassing and disturbing the peace.

Petty Theft ― Rosecrans Apartments

Reported Dec. 4, 8 a.m., occurred between Dec. 3, 6 p.m. and Dec. 4, 8 a.m.

A student reported their GPS and other items stolen from their locked vehicle. Two of the stolen items were discovered nearby. The incident was not reported to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, but remains active.

Trespassing ― Horse Trail

Reported Dec. 4, 1:27 p.m.

A staff employee reported an individual who wandered onto campus looking lost and out of place. Officers made contact and determined the individual had no business being on campus. Officers issued a trespassing warning and escorted the individual off campus.

Petty Theft ― Horton Hall

Reported Dec. 4, 5:48 p.m., occurred Dec. 2, between 2:20 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

A student’s parent reported a missing wallet and later filed a theft report. The wallet was allegedly stolen from Horton lobby. The LASD is not involved. However, the case remains active.

Petty Theft ― Cafe

Reported Dec. 5, 2:45 p.m., occurred between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

A student reported their umbrella stolen from the umbrella bin inside the cafe. The individual was able to locate their umbrella when they found someone walking around with it.

Petty Theft ― Sutherland Hall

Reported Dec. 7, 1:58 p.m., occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 10:20 a.m.

A student reported their wallet stolen after Wednesday morning chapel. The wallet was left behind in Sutherland Auditorium and when the individual went back, it was no longer there. This case was not reported to the LASD but remains active.

Trespassing ― Beachcomber Apartments

Reported Dec. 8, 1:15 a.m.

Campus Safety personnel observed two transient individuals looking through a dumpster behind the apartment buildings. Officers made contact with the individuals, who claimed they were looking for recycling. The officers asked them to leave, which they did without further incident.

Disturbing the Peace ― La Mirada Apartments

Reported Dec. 9, 2:42 a.m.

A student reported loud music coming from another room. Officers made contact with the students and had them turn down their music. There was no further incident.

Petty Theft ― Hope Hall

Reported Dec. 9, 12:59 p.m., occurred between 2 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

A student reported multiple holiday decorations stolen from their floor. The case remains active. The case was not referred to the LASD.
