The women’s golf team wrapped up their season at the 2012 NAIA Qualifier Tournament at the Willow Glen Course at the Sycuan Resort in El Cajon on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24 with a fifth place finish. NAIA No. 13 Concordia University of Oregon won the event.

Most teams t-pook advantage of a sunny Tuesday round following Monday’s drizzly weather, but Biola played well in the rain — shooting seven shots less than they did on day two.

Concordia University had the top two finishers in the tournament with Sunny Powers and Holly Speer going 1-2 and shooting 148 and 149 respectively.

Junior Lauren Marlow was the top finisher for the Eagles; she finished in 11th place shooting 163. Sophomore Jackie Mata was right behind her, tied for 13th place and shooting a season’s personal best 169.

This was only the second tournament this year that Biola has broken 700 as a team, shooting just under 699.
