The Biola Eagles Softball team picked up two wins in one day last Thursday when they swept Hope International University in a doubleheader. The Eagles pitchers held the Royals to a total of two hits between the two games, including an impressive no hitter in the latter game.

The Eagles won both games by a score of 6-0 to improve their record to 10-6, including 2-2 in GSAC play. The victories were Biola’s first GSAC wins of the year.

In the first game, junior Lyndsie Roberts only allowed two hits while recording four strikeouts in a complete game victory. Senior Krista Johnson drove in three runs with a homer and a two-run single. Biola then added a pair of unearned runs in the fifth an sixth innings.

Roberts took the hill in the second game and picked up right where she left off in the first game. She allowed no hits over the first four innings while Junior Kristin Larson capped off the no hitter performance. Not only did Roberts dominate on the mound, she added a first inning grand-slam to put the Eagles up 4-0; the Eagles never looked back as they dominated the Royals with a second 6-0 victory.

Biola hits the road against Concordia on Thursday as they play another double header.
